Integrate via our MCP server (for AI assistants & agents)

Connect Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini and other AI assistants to your app with the CustomerHub MCP server: server URL, sign-in, per-assistant setup, custom assistants and disconnecting.

This article explains how to connect AI assistants like Claude, ChatGPT and Gemini to your CustomerHub app with the CustomerHub MCP server, so you can read and manage your app by chatting with your assistant.

🤖 What Is the CustomerHub MCP Server?

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets AI assistants use tools in other apps. The CustomerHub MCP server lets a connected assistant:

  • Read and manage your app: posts, products, users, pages and more

  • Use only the tools your plan includes, and only inside your app

  • Lose access as soon as you disconnect it (live sessions end within about 10 minutes)

Example: ask Claude “Which users joined my course this week?” or “Draft a welcome post for my community,” and it works directly in your CustomerHub app.

📋 What You’ll Need

  • Admin access to your CustomerHub app

  • An account with the AI assistant you want to connect. Some assistants only allow custom connectors on certain plans (see the table below)

There is no API key to copy. Every built-in assistant connects with a secure CustomerHub sign-in.

🔗 How to Connect an AI Assistant

Step 1: Click Settings (gear icon) in the sidebar, hover over Workspace, then click Connectors

Step 2: Click the AI & MCP filter, find your assistant and click CONNECT

Step 3: On the assistant’s page, copy the Server URL with the copy icon. It is your app’s address followed by /mcp, and it is the same for every assistant

Step 4: Click CONNECT in the Connection card. This opens a one-hour window for the assistant to sign in

Step 5: In your AI assistant, add a custom connector and paste the Server URL. The Set up card on each assistant’s page lists the exact steps, and the table below summarizes them

Step 6: The assistant opens your CustomerHub sign-in and consent screen. Sign in and approve access

💡 Once the assistant signs in, the Connection card shows Healthy, and the assistant’s card on the Connectors page shows a green Connected badge. If the hour runs out before you finish, click CONNECT again.

🧭 Setup by Assistant

Assistant

Where to add the Server URL

Good to know

Claude

Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector

On Team and Enterprise plans, an owner adds it once under Organization settings → Connectors, then each person clicks Connect. Turn it on per chat from the + menu

ChatGPT

Settings → Apps & Connectors → turn on developer mode → create a connector

Keep the /mcp path. Use Refresh later to pick up new tools

Google Gemini

gemini.google.com → Settings & help → Connected apps → Add a custom app

Needs a personal Google Account. Work and school accounts can’t add custom apps

Grok

grok.com/connectors → New Connector → Custom

Mention the connector in your chat so Grok uses it

Lindy

Integrations → + Add → MCP

Set Availability to the workspace so your team shares one connection. Zero tools available means the URL is wrong

OpenClaw

Control UI → Settings → MCP → Add server

Choose Streamable HTTP. Finish with openclaw mcp login and test with openclaw mcp doctor --probe

Perplexity

Profile → All settings → Connectors → + Custom connector → Remote

Choose OAuth and Streamable HTTP. Needs a paid Perplexity plan

Viktor

Integrations → Add custom MCP

Ask Viktor for something from your app in Slack or Teams to confirm it works

Zapier AI

Apps → + Add connection → MCP Client

Choose Streamable HTTP, answer yes to OAuth and leave the bearer token empty. MCP Client is in beta

📄 Each assistant’s page in CustomerHub also links to that assistant’s own setup guide.

➕ Add Any Other MCP Assistant

Use any other assistant that supports MCP, such as Zed, Cline or your own internal agent.

  1. At the bottom of the Connectors page, click Add an AI assistant

  2. Enter an Assistant name so you can tell its credentials apart later

  3. Optionally add a Setup guide link to the assistant’s own MCP instructions

  4. Click ADD ASSISTANT. CustomerHub issues an MCP token and the config to paste into your assistant

⚠️ Unlike the built-in assistants, a custom assistant connects with a token. Keep it private, like a password.

🔌 Connection and Logs

Each assistant’s Connection card shows its status, when it signed in and its Last request.

  • RESET CONNECTION: clears the current sign-in so the assistant can connect again. Use it if the assistant stops working

  • DISCONNECT: revokes the assistant’s access. Live sessions end within about 10 minutes

  • VIEW LOGS: opens the Audit Log for that assistant so you can see what changed

⚠️ Troubleshooting

  • Sign-in doesn’t open or fails: click CONNECT in CustomerHub first, then add the connector within the hour

  • Assistant shows no tools: check the Server URL ends in /mcp, then refresh the connector in your assistant

  • A tool you expected is missing: available tools follow your plan’s features

  • Connection stopped working: click RESET CONNECTION, then connect again

🧠 Summary

The CustomerHub MCP server lets AI assistants like Claude, ChatGPT and Gemini read and manage your app. Copy the Server URL, click CONNECT, add the URL in your assistant and approve access. Disconnect at any time to revoke it.
