Previewing lets you check how your CustomerHub site looks and behaves before launching it to real users — whether you’re an admin reviewing changes or you want to double‑check the experience from a user’s perspective.
This article explains both ways to preview your site:
📊 As an Admin — view the entire site without needing a user account
👤 As a User (Test User) — simulate the real experience logged in as a member
👨💼 Preview as an Admin
The Admin Site Preview feature lets admins view the published version of your site directly from the admin console without logging in as an end user. This mode shows your published pages and products so you can check layout, navigation, and content quickly before deeper testing.
Why It Matters
You can access and view any content on your site, even if product access restrictions are in place.
Interactions in preview do not affect analytics or user data.
Helpful for reviewing changes after publishing themes, pages, or brand updates.
How to Preview as an Admin
Log in to your Admin Console.
In the top navigation bar, locate and click the Preview button.
A new browser tab opens with your site in Preview mode.
You’ll see a persistent Preview banner at the top of the screen indicating you’re in preview mode.
Navigate throughout your site as if you were a real user.
What You Can Do in Preview Mode
View restricted content without having to assign access.
Click buttons and test navigation.
Interact with live content without recording analytics or user progress.
👤 Preview as a User
Previewing as a user lets you experience your site exactly as a real member would — including login, content access, navigation, and everything gated behind product permissions. This method requires creating a test user.
Why It Matters
Use this to validate user access, product visibility, user navigation, and experience.
Helpful after theme, content, or permission changes.
Allows you to catch issues early before your site goes live.
How to Preview as a User
Create a test user account in your Admin Console.
Assign product access to that test user so they can access content.
Make sure at least one product and at least one page are in Live mode, or you may see an empty site.
From the Admin interface, click the preview/user site link — often visible in the top right.
Hovering over the icon shows your unique user site URL.
Open the link in a new tab and log out as admin if needed.
Log in as your test user to view the site precisely as they would.
⚠️ It’s essential to test your site as a real user to confirm product access and navigation work correctly. Follow our Test User Setup guide to create a test account and validate the experience.
Pro Tips for User Preview
Use a simple test password so you can log in easily.
Test your site regularly — after every major change.
📌 When to Use Each Preview Method
Preview Method | Best for… |
Admin Preview | Quick visual check of layout, navigation, branding, and content structure without logging in as a user. |
User Preview | Full end‑to‑end experience verifying permissions, product access, onboarding, and real navigation. |
Admin Preview does not simulate user‑specific restrictions or personalized content — to do that, use a test user login instead.
