This article explains how to connect your HighLevel (GHL) CRM account to CustomerHub. Once connected, you can sync contacts, manage tags, and trigger automations between both platforms.
📡 What Is the HighLevel Connector?
The HighLevel connector integrates your HighLevel CRM with CustomerHub, enabling you to:
Sync CustomerHub users to HighLevel contacts
Create and manage HighLevel tags for products and segments
Apply activity tags to trigger HighLevel automations
Bidirectional sync via webhooks
📋 What You’ll Need
Before connecting, make sure you have the following from your HighLevel account:
Private Integration API Key — Found in HighLevel under Settings → Integrations → Private Integrations. Create a new private integration or copy an existing token.
Location ID — Found in HighLevel under Settings → Business Profile. The Location ID appears in the URL or on the Company tab.
💡 Keep your API Key secure. Treat it like a password — anyone with this key can access your HighLevel data.
🔗 How to Connect HighLevel
Follow these steps to connect your HighLevel account:
Step 1: Navigate to Settings → Workspace → Connectors
Step 2: Find the HighLevel card on the Connectors page and click CONNECT
Step 3: In the connection dialog, enter your credentials:
Private Integration API Key — Paste the token from your HighLevel private integration
Location ID — Enter the Location ID from your HighLevel account
Step 4: Click Connect to complete the setup
💡 Once connected, the HighLevel card on the Connectors page will display a green Connected status with the date and admin who set it up.
🔄 How the Sync Works
After connecting, CustomerHub and HighLevel communicate in both directions:
CustomerHub → HighLevel:
When a user is added to CustomerHub, a corresponding contact is created in HighLevel
Product and segment tags from CustomerHub are synced as tags in HighLevel
Activity tags (e.g., login, product completion) are applied to HighLevel contacts to trigger automations
HighLevel → CustomerHub:
Changes made in HighLevel can sync back to CustomerHub via webhooks
Contact updates in HighLevel are reflected in the corresponding CustomerHub user record
🔍 Finding Your HighLevel Credentials
Private Integration API Key
Log in to your HighLevel account
Go to Settings → Integrations
Click Private Integrations
Create a new private integration or click on an existing one
Copy the API Key (token)
Location ID
In HighLevel, go to Settings → Business Profile
Find the Location ID on the Company tab, or check your browser URL bar — the Location ID appears in the URL
⚠️ Troubleshooting
If you run into issues connecting or syncing, try the following:
Invalid API Key — Double-check that you copied the full token from HighLevel. Make sure there are no extra spaces before or after the key.
Invalid Location ID — Verify the Location ID matches the sub-account you want to connect. Each HighLevel sub-account has its own Location ID.
Connection lost — If the connection drops, your API key may have been revoked or expired in HighLevel. Generate a new key and reconnect.
Contacts not syncing — Ensure webhooks are enabled in your HighLevel account and that the API key has the necessary permissions.
🧠 Summary
The HighLevel connector lets you bridge your CRM and CustomerHub for seamless contact management and workflow automation. You connect using a Private Integration API Key and Location ID from your HighLevel account. Once connected, users, tags, and activity events sync bidirectionally between both platforms, enabling you to trigger HighLevel automations based on CustomerHub activity.
