Elevate is CustomerHub’s newest theme, and it is more than a new coat of paint. This article covers what Elevate does differently from the classic themes — a widget-based dashboard, navigation and appearance controls, a full CSS class reference, and a redesigned member experience.

Unlike Motivate and Foundation — which are traditional themes you skin with colors and fonts — Elevate is a full user-experience system. It combines familiar theme styling with a configurable dashboard, navigation options, and feature toggles.

Elevate vs. classic themes at a glance:

From your Admin Console, open the Themes page. If Elevate is available for your account, you’ll see it listed with a LIVE badge once it is published. Click CUSTOMIZE to open the Elevate theme editor.

The Elevate editor is organized into five tabs — Colors, Fonts, Content, Settings, and Advanced. Three buttons sit at the top right:

The Colors tab controls every color token in the Elevate experience — primary, secondary and accent, each heading level, links, light and dark text, header and card backgrounds, and success and error states. Each swatch is labeled with exactly where it is used, so you can see what a change will affect before you make it.

The Fonts tab sets typefaces for the same token structure, with a live preview under every selection so you can see the font before you publish.

The Settings tab is where Elevate goes beyond a normal theme.

Navigation Style — Choose between a Sidebar or Top Navigation layout for your member site.

Theme default — Set the default appearance to Light, Dark, or System (which follows each user’s device setting). Use the toggle beneath it to decide whether this is a locked setting or just a default that users can override in their own profile.

Elevate’s dashboard is built from widgets you arrange yourself. Drag widgets between rows to group them, or drop one into Independent to give it its own full-width row. Widgets sharing a row split it evenly — turning some off lets the rest grow to fill the space.

The Content tab is a complete CSS class reference for the Elevate experience — every page and component the theme renders, with copyable selectors, organized by page and broken into blocks, parts, and modifiers. Copy a selector here and target it from Advanced, then republish.

The Advanced tab gives you a CSS editor (standard CSS, plus @import for external stylesheets) and a JavaScript editor for scripts such as analytics or support SDKs.

Users land on a personalized dashboard built from the widgets you configured — their goal banner, active journey, featured post, achievements, leaderboard standing, and their content library.

The sidebar gives users quick access to Dashboard, Journeys, Library, and Community. It can be collapsed to free up screen space, and on mobile it becomes a slide-out menu.

The top bar adds site-wide search (Ctrl+K), voice search (Ctrl+Shift+Space), a notifications popover for product access, community activity and journey updates, and messages for direct messaging between users.

Clicking their avatar opens a menu with shortcuts to Profile, Notes, and Files, plus a Light / Dark / System appearance switcher. If you locked the theme default in Settings, users see your choice applied instead.

Elevate is what gives your users the stronger sign-in options that admins have always had. On an older theme their profile shows a password and nothing else. On Elevate they get three more ways to get into their account:

Users manage all of this themselves from Profile → Account, where they will now see Password, Two-factor authentication, and Passkeys cards. The passkey and Google buttons appear on the login screen.

Elevate presents these in a refreshed layout, but they work the same way they are documented elsewhere in the help center:

Do my users have to set up 2FA or a passkey on Elevate?
No. Both are optional and each user decides for themselves. Email and password still works, and login links are unaffected by the theme.

Can I still customize colors and fonts on Elevate?
Yes. Elevate has full Colors and Fonts tabs. What differs from the classic themes is that layouts are fixed and modern — you customize the dashboard through widgets rather than rebuilding page layouts.

Will my dashboard widget layout carry over from another theme?
No. Switching to Elevate applies the default widget layout. You can rearrange it at any time from Settings → Dashboard Widgets.

What happens if I switch away from Elevate?
Your site reverts to your previously published theme, and Elevate-only features are turned off at the same time.

Can users choose their own light or dark mode?
Yes, unless you lock the theme default in Settings. When unlocked, your selection is only the starting point and users can switch it from their avatar menu.

Is Elevate mobile friendly?
Yes. The widget-based dashboard and navigation both adapt to smaller screens, with the sidebar becoming a slide-out menu.
