Community Achievements & Leaderboard

Set up your community's gamification: create achievement badges with requirements, notifications, and rewards, and configure the leaderboard that ranks your top contributors.

โ„น๏ธ Achievements and the Leaderboard require the Engage version of CustomerHub.

๐Ÿ† What Are Achievements & Leaderboard?

The Achievements and Leaderboard features are part of your Community's gamification system. They let you reward users for completing milestones โ€” like publishing their first post, completing a product, or maintaining a login streak โ€” and highlight your top contributors with a public ranking.

Navigate to Community in the left sidebar to access the hub. You'll find two dedicated cards:

  • Achievements โ€” Create badges and milestones that users earn for completing actions

  • Leaderboard โ€” Rank users by points, showing who is most active in your community

๐Ÿ’ก Achievements award points to users when they meet requirements. Those points feed into the Leaderboard rankings, creating a complete engagement loop.

๐ŸŽ–๏ธ Achievements: Creating Badges and Milestones

Click the Achievements card on the Community hub to open your achievements list. This is where you create, manage, and monitor all the badges users can earn.

The page shows your achievements in a list with these details:

  • Name โ€” The achievement name and description

  • Type โ€” The requirement type (e.g., Posts, Likes, Journey completed)

  • Threshold โ€” How many times the action must occur to unlock

  • Users โ€” How many users have earned this achievement

  • Status โ€” LIVE (visible to users) or DRAFT (hidden)

Use the search bar to find achievements by name. Toggle between list view and grid view using the icons in the top-right corner. Click the + button to create a new achievement.

Creating and Editing an Achievement

Click an achievement in the list (or the + button to create a new one) to open the achievement editor. The editor has three tabs: INFO, REWARDS, and USERS.

INFO Tab

The INFO tab is where you configure the achievement's core details:

  • Icon โ€” Click Change icon to pick a badge icon for this achievement

  • Name โ€” The achievement name users will see

  • Description โ€” A rich text description explaining what the achievement is for

  • LIVE/DRAFT toggle โ€” Control whether this achievement is visible and earnable by users

โ€‹

โ€‹

Requirements

On the right side of the INFO tab, you'll set the Requirements that users must meet to unlock the achievement:

  • Requirement type โ€” Choose what action triggers the achievement

  • Threshold โ€” How many times the action must occur (e.g., 1 post, 20 likes, 5 products)

Available requirement types:

  • Posts created โ€” User creates community posts

  • Comments created โ€” User posts comments

  • Likes received โ€” User receives likes on their posts and comments

  • Products completed โ€” User completes products

  • Journeys completed โ€” User completes journeys

  • Files uploaded โ€” User uploads files

  • Login streak (days) โ€” User logs in for consecutive days

  • Journey completed โ€” User completes a specific journey

  • Custom (manual unlock) โ€” Manually unlock the achievement for specific users

Click + ADD REQUIREMENT to add multiple requirements to a single achievement. Users must meet all requirements to unlock it.

โ€‹

โ€‹

Notification

Below the description, you'll find the Notification section:

  • Send unlock notification โ€” Toggle on to notify users when they earn this achievement

  • Message โ€” Write an optional message users see when they unlock the achievement (e.g., "Congrats on publishing your first post!")

Rewards Tab

Click the REWARDS tab to configure what users receive when they unlock this achievement. You can award points that contribute to the Leaderboard ranking.

Click the + button to add a reward. Each reward shows the type (e.g., "Award points") and the amount. Use the three-dot menu (โ‹ฎ) to edit or remove rewards.

โ€‹

๐Ÿ’ก Points awarded through achievements are what drive the Leaderboard rankings. Set meaningful point values to differentiate easy and difficult achievements.

๐Ÿ“Š Leaderboard: Tracking Top Contributors

Click the Leaderboard card on the Community hub to see your user rankings. The Leaderboard displays a table with these columns:

  • Rank โ€” The user's position (e.g., #1, #2). Users with the same points share the same rank.

  • User โ€” The user's name, avatar, and email

  • Points โ€” Total points earned from achievement rewards

  • Joined โ€” When the user joined

  • Status โ€” active or inactive

Use the search bar to find specific users. Use the Sort by dropdown to change the ranking order:

  • Most points โ€” Rank by total points (default)

  • Most recent โ€” Rank by join date

  • Name (A โ†’ Z) โ€” Alphabetical order

โ€‹

๐Ÿ’ก The Leaderboard updates automatically as users earn achievements and accumulate points. No manual updates needed.

โš™๏ธ Achievement Settings

Click the SETTINGS tab on the Achievements page (Community โ†’ Achievements โ†’ SETTINGS) to control how achievements appear to users:

  • Show achievements panel โ€” Display the achievements panel on the member-facing community view

  • Show achievement badges โ€” Display earned badge icons next to user names on their posts and comments

โ€‹

โš ๏ธ If you turn off Show achievements panel, users won't see the achievements section in their community view, but you can still manage achievements in the admin dashboard.

โš™๏ธ Leaderboard Settings

Click the SETTINGS tab on the Leaderboard page (Community โ†’ Leaderboard โ†’ SETTINGS) to control engagement and leaderboard display:

  • Show engagement scores on profiles โ€” Display a user's engagement score on their profile

  • Show activity streaks โ€” Show consecutive login streaks on user profiles

  • Show leaderboard panel โ€” Display the leaderboard in the member-facing community view

  • Show "new user" badge โ€” Display a badge for recently joined users, with a configurable duration in days

โ€‹

โš ๏ธ If you turn off Show leaderboard panel, users won't see the leaderboard in their community view, but you can still manage it in the admin dashboard.

๐Ÿ”— How It All Connects

Here's how the gamification system works end-to-end:

  • Create achievements with requirements (e.g., "Post 5 times") and point rewards (e.g., 100 points)

  • Users complete actions that match the requirement type and threshold

  • Achievement unlocks automatically โ€” user receives a notification (if enabled) and earns the badge

  • Points accumulate from achievement rewards and feed into the Leaderboard

  • Leaderboard ranks users by total points, encouraging continued engagement
