Activity Tracking & Triggers

How CustomerHub records every member action and how activity triggers fire automations in connected apps, including the Engagement page, per-user activity logs, and connector support.

πŸ“Š What Is Activity Tracking?

CustomerHub's built-in activity tracking monitors every important action your users take inside your membership site. Every login, video watch, file download, and content interaction is automatically recorded β€” giving you a complete picture of user engagement.

Activity tracking powers two key features:

  • User Activity Pulse β€” a visual heatmap showing engagement patterns over time

  • Activity Triggers β€” automated actions in connected apps when specific activities occur

πŸ’‘ Activity tracking is found in the Engagement section of your admin sidebar.

⚑ Activity Triggers

CustomerHub tracks the following activity triggers automatically:

User Lifecycle

  • Login β€” user logged into your membership

  • Inactive β€” user was marked as inactive

Content Engagement

  • Video Watched β€” user started watching a video

  • Video Completed β€” user finished watching a video

  • Audio Listened β€” user listened to an audio file

  • File Downloaded β€” user downloaded a file

  • File Uploaded β€” user uploaded a file (e.g., Filebox)

  • Page Viewed β€” user viewed a content page

  • Page Completed β€” user completed a product page

Product & Journey Progress

  • Product Access Granted β€” user received access to a product

  • Product Access Removed β€” user's product access was revoked

  • Product Completed β€” user completed all pages in a product

  • Onboarding Completed β€” user finished a journey

  • Onboarding Task Completed β€” user completed a step within a journey

πŸ’‘ Use the Type filter on the Engagement page to filter the activity log by any of these trigger types.

πŸ“ˆ The Engagement Page

Navigate to Engagement in the admin sidebar to see all user activity in real time. The Engagement page includes:

  • Search bar β€” search by type or description to find specific activities

  • User Activity Pulse β€” a heatmap showing activity patterns over the last 30 days, broken down by day of the week and hour. Intensity levels range from none to very high

  • Activities table β€” a chronological log of every user activity, showing TYPE, DESCRIPTION, and CREATED timestamp

Filtering Activities

Click the filter icon (funnel) to the right of the search bar to narrow your activity log. The filter panel offers:

  • Type β€” filter by activity type (Login, Video Watched, Product Access Granted, etc.)

  • Products β€” filter by specific products

  • Days β€” choose the time window (default: 30 days)

  • Created date range β€” set custom From and To dates

Click Reset all filters to clear all active filters and return to the full activity log.

πŸ‘€ User-Specific Activity Log

View activity for a single user by navigating to their user profile:

  1. Go to Users in the admin sidebar

  2. Click on any user's name to open their profile

  3. Click the ACTIVITIES tab

The user-specific activity log shows the same User Activity Pulse heatmap and Activities table, but filtered to just that user. You can use the same search and filter tools to narrow down their activity.

πŸ’‘ Click the user's name in the global Engagement log to jump directly to that specific user's activity page.

πŸ”— Connector Support & Automation

Trigger advanced automation in your connected apps when a specific activity occurs. Activity triggers integrate with:

  • Keap β€” tag contacts, start campaigns, and trigger sequences based on user activity

  • ActiveCampaign β€” trigger automations and apply tags when users take specific actions

  • Zapier β€” connect to thousands of apps using activity events as triggers

When an activity occurs, CustomerHub sends the event to your connected platform so you can take automated action β€” like sending a follow-up email when a user completes a product, or tagging a contact when they watch a specific video.

❓ Troubleshooting / FAQ

"Where is the Engagement page?"

Click Engagement in the admin sidebar. This is where you'll find the User Activity Pulse and the full activities log.

It has been renamed to User Activity Pulse. The functionality is the same β€” it's a heatmap that visualizes user engagement patterns over time.

"Can I filter activities by product or time range?"

Yes! Click the filter icon on the Engagement page or the user-specific Activities tab. You can filter by Type, Products, Days, and a custom date range.
